Job description
At UpCloud you’ll be building the cloud itself - literally!
Sometimes, cloud technologies can be offered as a patchwork of ready-made solutions. At UpCloud, however, you'll work with something we've built from scratch ourselves. You'll know exactly what you're dealing with and you'll have an impact on how to make it even better. We offer an environment where fresh ideas and technical discussions are encouraged, and a flat hierarchy is valued. Our existing infrastructure relies on open-source Linux tools, built with Go & Perl, with a heavy emphasis on moving towards a distributed microservices architecture.
In this job, you will
Work as part of an experienced team focused on our core software: computation, storages, and networks.
Improve the control panel and user experience for the team’s products.
Focus on improving customer-facing APIs and our UIs, like the UpCloud Hub.
Enhance and upgrade our internal integrations and collaborate with our other development teams.
Participate in building our next level of cloud offering, like improved storages and compute plans
To succeed, you will need
Skills and background in frontend development: our stack is React, TypeScript, and CSS. You should be skilled in at least two of these.
Understanding and skills with backend development. Our stack is Golang or Perl, so working with them is even better!
Knowledge and practice with API development and modern practices.
A proactive work mindset will give you plenty of freedom and responsibility.
We also appreciate
Experience in applying CI/CD and other automation tooling, as well as Git.
Skills and background in designing and improving UX/CX.
Experience working with distributed architecture and building microservices.
Understanding of customer expectations for cloud infrastructure.
Understanding of the Linux platform (Kernel parameters, initrd, systems)
You can work from our office in the heart of Helsinki or fully remotely anywhere in Europe.
If you would like to join our journey to never become yet another cloud provider, please get in touch using the ‘apply for this job’ button.
