We are looking for a proactive Technical Pre-sales Consultant to join our team at UpCloud. In this customer-facing role, you will bridge the gap between our technical solutions and sales efforts. Your primary focus will be on architecting customer solutions and providing pre-sales cloud expertise for both to customers and internally to help the team to close the deals.

What is the role like?

As our Technical Pre-sales Consultant, you will be at the forefront of our customer engagement strategy, collaborating with our sales, product, and development teams to drive continuous improvement. Your primary focus will be on helping customers with their most pressing technical challenges, providing pre-sales cloud expertise, architecting best-practice solutions, representing UpCloud at tech community events, and ensuring our offerings continuously evolve and improve. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Playing a key role in the customer solution architecting process, providing pre-sales cloud expertise using your creativity and solid cloud knowledge.

  • Helping customers with best-practice architectures, performance, cost, and reliability—or, in general, how to best benefit from UpCloud’s solutions.

  • Internally, you will work directly with our sellers and product managers to drive continuous improvement in UpCloud’s offering based on customer feedback.

  • You will also help shape how we engage with our customers and internally. This means, for example, developing service level agreements and risk management plans.

  • Additionally, you have a chance to represent UpCloud at tech community events!

👉 International sales team and our ways of working: You will join our Go-to-Market Team led by our CCO Manuel Heilmann. Spread across Europe, our team brings diverse expertise and perspectives. Currently, we are strengthening our team with technical expertise – we hope it’s you.

👉 Our mindset: Our sales efforts are centered around a customer-centric approach. In this role, you'll particularly emphasize the ability to articulate technical solutions effectively, tailoring your communication to various audiences, whether C-level executives or equally technical stakeholders.

👉 Opportunity to travel: Your role will involve traveling across Europe, and occasionally overseas up to 50% of your work time to meet our customers alongside our sales experts. Additionally, our team enjoys occasional company retreats, such as our company retreat in Barcelona at the end of September.

  • Location: in Europe, preferably in Finland, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, or in the UK. Our team works fully remotely or from our offices in Helsinki and Singapore.
