Product Owner - Containers & Developer Experience

Job description

At UpCloud you’ll be literally building the cloud.

Sometimes, cloud technologies can be offered as a patchwork of ready-made solutions. At UpCloud, however, you'll be working with something that we've built from the ground up. You'll know exactly what you're dealing with and you'll have an impact on how to make it even better. You'll find yourself in an environment where fresh ideas and technical discussions are encouraged and flat hierarchy is valued.

UpCloud’s Product Owners make sure our products are well built, maintained, and delivered on time, according to the product vision to reach the company’s business goals. We are proud of doing things our own way instead of following the crowds - and so should you! As a Product Owner, you will have the opportunity - and the responsibility - to deliver world-class services to our customers.

We think you'll enjoy this role if you have a great sense of ownership - the possibilities of seeing the results of your work are quite dramatic, for the good and for the worse. It'll be your job to turn ideas into working products that customers love.

Job requirements

  • Solid experience in managing product development by leading software development work.

  • Good understanding of concepts and solutions in containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines and a DevOps way of working.

  • Experience in iterative development with frequent deliveries and a close feedback loop with the end-users.

  • Business understanding: no stranger to targets, deadlines and KPIs.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills when working with customers, engineers, business and tech people alike.

  • Previous knowledge of the cloud industry and a vision of where it’s heading.

  • Capability to both operate in and improve our agile ways of working.

You will be managing the backlog for our next core product, UpCloud Kubernetes Service (UKS) and the associated tools and services required to run customer’s workloads with a container-first approach. We want to enable our customers to run container workloads with seamless integration to the rest of the UpCloud ecosystem and other managed services.

You will work closely with seasoned engineers fully dedicated to the product area, as well as a Product Manager managing the commercial aspects of the product area and a Team Coach taking care of our development team.

We invite all candidates to apply within a reasonable time difference to Helsinki. Even though we boast the coolest new office in the very heart of Helsinki, UpCloud also has a very healthy remote culture, and many of your colleagues will be working remotely. We will help with your relocation if you’d like to live in Finland, the country that repeatedly ranks as the happiest place in the world.
