We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join UpCloud’s Finance team in Helsinki. If you are looking for a high-speed and continuously evolving growth environment, take the first step and apply now!

This is an exciting time to join our Finance team, as we are building an inhouse accounting team where you would be a key player in shaping our accounting function and running our bookkeeping in-house. We are starting a Netsuite ERP implementation project where you will get the chance to actively participate in the implementation from start to finish. As our Senior Accountant, you will manage daily accounting-related tasks, participate in group consolidation and play an important role in the monthly closing process together with the team.

We are looking for a detail-oriented accounting professional with the experience to perform and the capacity to grow and develop in the role. As a person you enjoy fast paced low hierarchy culture.

Main responsibilities

As a Senior Accountant at UpCloud, you will:

  • Take a lead on daily accounting tasks such as processing bank statements, allocating payments to open invoices, invoice handling and making payments to our vendors

  • Process and approve employee expenses

  • Carry out VAT & CIT reporting

  • Participate in the monthly group consolidation process for UpCloud Group

  • Enable in-housing of our subsidiary accounting from our current external service providers

  • Take an active part in our Netsuite ERP implementation project

  • Take ownership of the Finnish entity’s accounting and tax reporting as well as subsidiary accounting

  • Work actively with outsourced service providers around the world to ensure good-quality accounting and reporting throughout the group

  • Take part in accounting related decision making

  • Manage and develop processes and tools related to accounting and financial controls

  • Have a shared responsibility of the Group accounting and financials together with the Group Controller

Job requirements

We’re definitely looking for you, if you:

  • Have relevant working experience in accounting - rather than a specific number of years in experience we are looking for the right skill set

  • Solid understanding of Finnish Accounting Standards, relevant tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements

  • Are experienced in using Netsuite

  • Experience from group consolidation is considered advantageous

  • Have solid organisational skills with the ability to manage priorities and co-operate with the team to execute in a fast-paced environment

  • Are detail and result oriented, comfortable working in collaborative settings, and have an eye for continuously automating and improving processes

  • Are interested in automating processes and managing accounting related tools

  • Are fluent in using Google Sheets

  • Are comfortable using English in a work context

  • Have basic understanding of Finnish

  • Prior experience of ERP implementation process is considered a plus

The UpCloud Finance team works at our new office in downtown Helsinki at Aleksanterinkatu. The team appreciates a hybrid working environment but is usually on-site at least two days per week.
